  1. Who paid for the pizza? Where did it come from? What kind was it? Same for the bottled water? Yes, this is important. I’m doing a major paper on that event and every bit of trivia makes it more interesting.

    • Don’t have the details, sorry. You might want to reach out to the PA folks on Twitter and see if they have more info. As to who paid for it though, my guess is Uncle Sam. They were there on USG business, so in all likelihood, they were on per diem.

      • Thanx. I’ve been following dip&DIP stuff since the 1960s, mostly collecting trivia about the former. Eating, drinking and sleeping habits of diplomats always intrigued me. I better stop there before I cause an international incident. By the way, I really enjoy your site. Keep it going.
