Via Burn Bag:
“I wonder if the EERs* written at Embassy Saigon in 1973 contained as many self-congratulatory declarations of enduring accomplishment as those penned at Embassy Kabul in 2015.”

EER — Employee Evaluation Report
Correction: previous burn bag referenced Kabul in 1975. Author meant 2015.
I was in Kabul in 1988-89, and I did have an enduring accomplishment: verifying Soviet withdrawal from the country. As for the rest, well…
Did you/they mean Kabul in 1975? Or something more recent?

Will correct if sender sends a correction. But think it is intentional, not directly slamming whatever current practice is there. An exercise in “just wondering….”
The author meant to write 2015. Now corrected.
